Elisheva Schwartz, a 14-year old cellist from Winnipeg, Canada, is currently pursuing her ARCT in Cello Performance from the Royal Conservatory of Music. Elisheva will be studying with Yuri Hooker in the fall, and has had the pleasure of working with Desiree Abbey, as well as several other distinguished musicians through summer camps and festivals. Some highlights include playing before the Governal General of Canada at Ottawa’s National Art Gallery, placing runner-up to the Beryl Ferguson Memorial Trophy at the Winnipeg Music Festival, and being principal cellist of the Winnipeg Youth String & Concert Orchestras for 3 years. Elisheva has always been enthusiastic about spreading the joy and message music brings, and is excited to be further exploring how to communicate the passion of music in various ways. She joined the "Back to BACH" Project in May 2018, and she will serve as Winnipeg's regional director from fall 2018.
