Angeline Sun
Back to BACH Soloist: Piano
Angeline Sun is a Taiwanese pianist and current Biomedical Engineering student at Brown University, where she studies under Professor Saleem Abboud Ashkar in the Applied Music Program. A finalist in the 2025 Brown University Orchestra Concerto Competition and recipient of the Debussy Music Arts Center Young Talent Scholarship, Angeline’s performances reflect a deep commitment to both technical mastery and emotional depth.
She has performed in masterclasses with renowned artists including David Kaplan, Alexander Korsantia, and Lee Yun-Yang, and has appeared in venues across the U.S., Taiwan, and Italy. At Brown, Angeline is an active collaborative pianist in the AMP Voice Accompaniment Program and has worked with vocalists and instrumentalists, including recent interpretations of works by Rebecca Clarke and Robert Schumann. Her performances often highlight her interest in cross-cultural repertoire, such as her 2024 solo recital Xiang Chou (Missing Home), which wove together Western and Taiwanese musical traditions.
Drawing from her experiences across cultures and driven by a belief in music’s power to connect and heal both the performer and the listener, she approaches music as both a technical craft and a language for empathy—one that bridges artistic, emotional, and scientific understanding.
