“Through the mentorship, I learned to share music beyond my performance. In working together through a phrase while sharing questions, ideas and experiences, I became aware how much I love music.”

“We wouldn’t be where we are today without music education. It has enriched and nurtured my life, and I see it as my express duty to pass this gift to those in underprivileged communities. I am grateful to The Back to Bach Project for enabling this opportunity and for being the perfect vehicle through which I can be an active member of global society.”

"My favorite part of the mentorship program was being able to learn how to communicate my ideas clearly as well as gain new perspectives."

“One of my favorite moments was celebrating my student's proud achievement as she excitedly shared how she confidently cued her orchestra as the chosen leader of her group! As her first violin teacher, I wanted to try my best to make the learning process a fun and meaningful experience, practice and discipline and community and all. Through guiding several students, I gained a unique perspective on being a violin student from standing on the other end of the violin lessons as a mentor. I hope each of my students will continue to love and enjoy music as they progress in their musical journey.”

“Our students had a wonderful experience working with the Back to BACH mentorship program this past year! Mentors inspired the students to develop their technical skills while instilling in them a passion for music. Their growth over the spring term was evident in their group lessons as they became leaders for their peers.”

“We truly appreciate the mentors’ flexibility and creativity in making the experience meaningful for our young, beginner violin students this spring. Seeing our students play now, they have improved quite a bit thanks to Bach to BACH’s mentors!”
