Our Story

Discover the roots of the Back to BACH Project.

Welcome to “Back to Bach”

Hi everyone!

My name is Noah Lee and I am a cellist/musician from New Jersey. During the many years of playing the cello, I have experienced comfort, peace, compassion and immeasurable joy through music. Music has brought me to places all over the world. I have met the most tremendous, awe-inspiring people in my travels and made some amazing friends along the way, some of whom have joined me in the Back to Bach Project.

I find that many children do not take the opportunity to engage in the arts when it is offered in elementary schools. I realize that there is a fundamental lack of exposure of the arts in primary education and it is not uncommon for it to be considered “boring” compared to other activities. That’s where we come in. If my friends and I could show them how much fun it is to freely express who we are through our respective art forms, it might spark a curiosity, an interest, or even a passion. Then, the sky is the limit! We want to foster excitement and dedication in children by encouraging them to work hard and chase their dreams. It all starts somewhere!

The Back to Bach Project consists of young outstanding classical musicians and artists. Many of us have won prizes on the national, as well as international levels. We volunteer our time to visit elementary schools, libraries, and community organizations, to share a love of the arts that cannot be contained. We are continually striving to find new ways to inspire and connect with the next generation to achieve great things through fostering a love of the arts!

Feel free to contact us. We are always eager to receive any questions or suggestions.  Thank you for stopping by.

The "Back to BACH" Project

Our Past

The Back to BACH Project was launched in October 2014 with three members in Northern New Jersey. With our instruments and a dream, we presented our first program at Heights Elementary School in Oakland, New Jersey, which ended up with Ms. Ciambra, the principal, inviting us to another performance and contacting the principals in all of the neighboring elementary schools about us!

Our Present

The project has significantly grown since its beginnings. We have launched new artistic divisions and engaging online programs that serve a wide variety of communities globally and develop compassionate leadership within our Back to BACH Project members.

Our Future

We believe that every child can experience imagination, creativity, and persistence through the arts, and it is our responsibility to build these qualities in the next generation. Through our programs and partnerships, we strive to build a community of compassionate artists, visionaries, and dynamic leaders.
