Brian Lim

Mentorship Program Manager

Brian Lim is a Korean-American violinist based in New Jersey, who currently attends Tenafly High School. Brian began playing the violin at age seven and currently studies under Dr. Yu Jeong Lee. He is a member of the New York Youth Symphony Orchestra, which performs regularly at Carnegie Hall’s Stern Auditorium.

Through the New York Youth Symphony Chamber Music Program, Brian works under the guidance of Katia Kravitz and has formerly worked under violinist Suliman Tekalli. Through the program, he has performed at venues like the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Merkin Hall, and Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall. 

His chamber ensembles have been recognized as Finalists in the 41st Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center Young Musicians Competition and Semifinalists in the 11th Annual Coltman Chamber Music Competition.

Furthermore, Brian frequently performs outreach concerts across New Jersey and New York City, bringing live music to schools, nursing homes, and public events. He currently serves as the Mentorship Program Manager of the Back to Bach Project, a nonprofit organization dedicated to inspiring youth through music and arts education. In this role, he oversees national mentorship initiatives that connect advanced young artists with students from underserved communities.
