Kento Hong

Kento was born in New York and started his violin studies at age 6 in Los Angeles, California under Aimee Kreston.  At age 7  he debuted with Orchestra in Los Angeles.  He moved back to New York, studying under Dr. Setzer, and was accepted to Juillia

Kento was born in New York and started his violin studies at age 6 in Los Angeles, California under Aimee Kreston. At age 7 he debuted with Orchestra in Los Angeles. He moved back to New York, studying under Dr. Setzer, and was accepted to Juilliard Pre-College at age 10. Kento won First place in numerous competitions Including the International Virtuoso Competition, The Chappaqua Orchestra Concerto Competition, The 20th NY YWCA Music Competition and Camarata Artists International Competition and performed with their orchestras as soloist. He was chosen to perform in a sextet for the Juilliard Benefit in Alice Tully Hall. He performed in several major venues in New York City including Carnegie Hall and Merkin Hall. He has participated in Master Classes with Anne Akiko Meyers, Almita, and Roland Vamos and had lessons with Elmar Oliveira. Kento has won Grand 4th place in the 2020/2021 Menuhin international violin competition. He is currently studying at the Juilliard School Pre-college Division with Dr. Ann Setzer.
